Queen’s Fuel Cell Team’s mission is to develop innovative applications for fuel cell technology, to provide hands-on education for students and to increase public exposure to renewable energy. Since its inception in 2004 the team has successfully designed and built an alkaline fuel cell powered golf cart. Our current projects are revamping the golf cart with a new hydrogen fuel cell and building the world’s first hydrogen powered snowmobile. The electric snowmobile is nearing first phase completion; this project earned QFCT awards at the 2014 SAE Clean Snowmobile Challenge including a 3rd place finish in the Zero Emissions category.
QFCT welcomes all students to join the team; we focus strongly on hands-on developmental education, so no previous experience or knowledge is necessary. Our projects involve diverse aspects of engineering and project management. We have leadership positions available within our Technical and Operations divisions open to all years of students with guaranteed spots for first-years.
