Kamikaze Fix and Clean Week occurs during Frosh Week is a great way for the Upper Years to show Kingston citizens just how much we care about the community we live in. These volunteers help out elderly and less-abled citizens with painting, moving, garden work and other odd jobs, that they would otherwise be unable to do. Warm fuzzies for everyone!
Applications are available online at www.engosc.queensu.ca/applications and in the EngSoc lounge. They are due Thursday, April 2nd by 5:30 pm.
Want to help organize the EngRugby program next year? As coordinator you would have the ability to setup inter-faculty and inter-university games for the EngRugby team. This is a great experience for anyone who is interested or enjoys in organizing sport events and competitions.
Applications are available online at www.engosc.queensu.ca/applications and in the EngSoc lounge. They are due Thursday, April 2nd by 5:30 pm.
Hey Engineers!
Want something super fun to do to celebrate the end of classes? How about a Formal with the Nurses? All engineering students from any year (all-ages event) are invited to attend the annual Nursing spring formal. It takes place Friday April 3, 2009 at the Confederation Place Hotel on Ontario St. The event starts at 9pm, the theme is a masquerade ball and there are prizes for the best mask/outfit.
Tickets are $15.00 and you can contact Sarah Estey at 4se7@queensu.ca or they can be purchased at the door.
Hope to see lots of engineers out!
Hiring for the Students for Engineering Education Development Chair has been extended. If you feel that your educational experience isn't delivering everything it should and you'd like to do something about it, this position is for you! SEED works on a variety of academic issues throughout the year, finally reporting directly them to the faculty to accomplish tangible goals to help shape the future of Queen's Engineering.
Applications can be picked up in the lounge or online at www.engsoc.queensu.ca/applications and are due on Thursday, April 2nd. This position is open to all years, including first years!
Come on out and help us celebrate at any of our stations around campus, or at one of our all-day workshops.
By attending one of our workshops, you can learn a little about development and the approach that Engineers Without Borders takes to all of its projects. They will be taking place at the JDUC, room 351, and will be running at:
11:30 - 12:30 - 1:30 - 2:30 - 3:30 - 4:30
These workshops are free, and will be a lot of fun, so feel free to stop by for a minute or an hour!
We will also be hanging out around campus at the JDUC, Mac Corry and BioSci, so if you see one of our members, come on over and have a chat!
Looking forward to seeing you ALL on March 31st! Are YOU ready for change?
