Hello Everyone!

March is a crazy month full of midterms, assignments, and, most important of all, HIRING! There are many positions that will be hiring during the month of March, from our services, to event coordinators, to conference chairs. Read on to see what’s available for you!

1) Dodge-ball Tournament

Does the movie "Dodgeball" describe your life aspirations? Want a break from studying? EngSoc is having a dodge-ball tournament:

Date: Sunday, March 1

Time: 2 to 4 pm

Where: Bartlett Gym, upstairs in the PEC

Cost: $2 per person

2) EngSoc Hiring Fair

Are you interested in knowing what positions are available for the upcoming year? Want more information about what the Engineering Society does and how to get involved? Then the Hiring Fair is the place for you!

Date: Monday, March 9^th

Time: 6:30 to 8:30

Where: ILC Atrium

Directors, Event & Conference Coordinators, Student Groups, EngSoc Services, and Power Officers will be there to answer questions that you might have.

3) Event Coordinators & Power Officers

Want to help run one of EngSoc’s many successful events such as EngWeek, Buddy Program, Carol Service, Terry Fox Run, Kamikaze, EngRugby, or Athletics? Or maybe you want to be the Chief Returning Officer running elections, or help archive EngSoc’s rich history as the Archivist? Do you like to help market things and create videos to help out services? Then maybe you are interested in becoming the Chief Marketing Officer. Or maybe you want to be the Constitutional guru and correct people at Council when they don’t know policy. All of these positions will be hired in March. The applications for these positions will be due March 12^th, with interviews being help on the 14^th and 15^th. More information will be available at the Hiring Fair on March 9^th.

4) iCon, Campus Equipment Outfitters (CEO), Tearoom Head Manager, and Golden Words Business Manager Application Deadline Extended

Do you want to run one of EngSoc’s successful businesses next year? Then a Manager position is definitely the right fit for you! The following positions have had their application deadlines extended to the following dates:

Tearoom Head Manager: Due Monday, March 2^nd at 5:30.

Golden Words Business Manager: Due Monday, March 2^nd at 5:30.

Campus Equipment Outfitters (CEO) Head Manager: Due Tuesday, March 3^nd at 5:30.

iCon Manager: Due Thursday, March 5^th at 5:30.

5) Green Job Fair

The Commerce and Engineering Environmental Conference will be holding a green job fair in the ILC atrium this Friday, March 6th. The job fair starts at 12 noon, and will feature numerous employers and campus groups. Students from all faculties and disciplines are encouraged to attend.

6) QPID Executive Hiring – Apps Due March 6th

Queen’s Project on International Development is the only student run non-governmental organization in Canada and you can be one of its executives. Being an executive on QPID will provide you with an unparalleled experience in leadership, decision making and management.

The QPID executive is formed between the Directors and the executives. They work together directing QPID’s plans and initiatives throughout the year and solidifying policies for future years. The following applications are due March 6th 2009 and are available at http://engsoc.queensu.ca/application-forms/.

Finance:

Treasurer, Alumni Coordinator, Sponsorship Coordinator, and Communications Coordinator.

Campus and Community:

Kingston Projects Coordinator, Forum Coordinator, and Engineering Representative.

QPID hires our projects managers, site directors and cooperants in the Fall term.

Wednesday – Final FOOZ COUNTDOWN. Get your games in - playoffs are around the corner. Never too late to join. Grand Prize: your very own new fooz table. Make sure to check out the After School Special. Doors open 9:00

Friday – Golden Words SCIENCE FAIR! If only grade five could be this fun! Kick off 9:00pm

Saturday – CRAIG CARDIFF. Tickets available at the pub. Selling out fast! 8:00pm sharp.
