Due to the nature of the event, and the evolution it has taken over the years, the lanolin times cannot be directly compared with the axle grease times. It is not necessary, nor appropriate to directly compare Greasepole times between years. Greasepoles circa Sci ‘60 had entirely different rules than all subsequent greasepoles, most noteably that it did not occur in a pit.
