Involvement opportunities for past members of QPID

Alumni...

Helping to perpetuate the work of QPID every year

QPID would not be where it is today without the continual support and dedication of over 19 years worth of Alumni. With the creation of an Alumni Relations team this year, there are a variety of ways for QPID Alumni to get involved and engaged with QPID, including:

Mentor relationships
Many of QPID’s current members are interested in learning about and potentially going on to work in the Development field. However, few are sure about what they actually want to pursue! To that end, we are interested in establishing a base of alumni who are a bit farther down this road, and who are interested in being a resource for our current members to talk to and learn from.

Project ID and evaluation
Since being founded, QPID has always had a focus on summer projects, and on making these projects as helpful and meaningful as possible. This year, QPID is once again looking at establishing a new project area. And where do our Alumni fit in? Many of you have been> involved with QPID’s summer projects in the past, or are currently involved in NGOs world-wide. If you have gone on a project, we would love to know what effects your project has had in the long run. Alternatively, if you have any ideas about what areas QPID should be focusing on in the future, or have any contacts you think we should know about, we would love to hear about it!

Speaking at QPID forum
Every week, QPID runs a forum on campus for students on a development-related topic. We are always looking for speakers who can share new ideas or offer a new perspective on development. If you are interested in speaking at forum, we would love to have you!

Events
QPID is interested in holding an event for Alumni sometime in late April or early May. If you are interested, please let us know, as well as the location and time that would be best for you.

Year Reps
Every year in QPID has had a profound effect on the group, and each year has seen great friendships develop. If you are interested in catching up with all of your friends from your time at QPID, or still are in contact, we would love to have you as a QPID year rep. This would involve tracking down as many people as possible from your time at QPID, making sure their contact information is correct, and acting as a liaison between QPID and your year.
