What we're all about...
Queen's Project on International Development in a nutshell
Welcome to QPID!
Queen’s Project on International Development (QPID) operates out of the Engineering Society of Queen’s University, Kingston and is one of the few entirely student-run volunteer driven non-profit non-governmental organizations in Canada.
We run a variety of initiatives, both on and off campus. On campus, we focus on education through open weekly forums, an annual Youth Forum on Global and Community Development and SEE workshops for secondary school students, various campaigns and fundraising events. While our local endeavors mainly draw on human resources, the majority of our financial resources are devoted to our summer development projects that take place both in Canada and abroad involving approximately 14- 20 Queen’s students each year. As of 2009, QPID has been involved in over 90 projects in Guyana, Bolivia, Northern Ontario, Nunavut, Nicaragua, Peru, India, Burkina Faso and Ghana. Currently QPID sends students to volunteer on projects in specific regions in Ghana and Nunavut.
