Queen’s Teams on Discovery Channel!

TONIGHT at 7pm and again at 11pm, the Discovery Channel’s Daily Planet will be running a story on the Ontario Engineering Competition! Queen’s teams advanced from the Queen’s Engineering Competition, competing in both the Junior and Senior design challenges at OEC. It will also be re-aired 9am Thursday.

Congratulations to the 2010 - 2011 Executive Team

The Engineering Society would like to congratulate the 2010 - 2011 Executive team, who were elected this past Thursday after a three day voting period.  The new team is as follows:

President - Victoria Pleavin

Vice-President (Society Affairs) - Derrick Dodgson

Vice-President (Student Development) - Douglas Haney

Vice-President (Academic) -Adam Bunn

Vice-President (Operations) - Emily Fay

Director Meet & Greet this Tuesday

Can’t decide if you want to be a director for the Engineering Society?  Or, do you have many questions that you would love to have answered about the Society?  Well then, you should show up to the Meet & Greet this Tuesday in the ILC Atrium starting at 5:30 pm.

Give thanks, nominate someone for an Award

Every year the Engineering Society honours those that have done above and beyond work in out of school activities. This ranges from involvement in our student government, to involvement in various groups, athletics and more. There are even awards for Professors, Teaching Assistants and general staff.

Awards are given out at the yearly awards banquet which normally occurs during the last month of winter term. This year the banquet is on March 27th, 2010.

Apply to be an EngSoc Director!

Want to help run the best Society on campus?  Well then this positions is for you!  The director team is responsible for many facets of the Society, providing an excellent opportunity to get involved, gain some very valuable experience and make friendships that will last a lifetime.

Applications are due on Thursday February 11th at 5:30 in the EngSoc mailbox (right across the Tearoom).  Additionally, please forward an electronic copy to vpsa@engsoc.queensu.ca and vpsa.elect@engsoc.queensu.ca.
